Attention Milledgeville Water Customers

Beginning in May 2022, the Village will be completing a water system improvements project entailing the replacement of roughly 11 feet of 4-inch, 272 feet of 6-inch and 634 feet of 10-inch watermain, install water service lines, valves, line stops, fittings and 2 fire hydrants on 4th Street from Cochran Avenue to Main Avenue.

The total project is estimated to cost $785,237.76 and is being financed in part with 20-year 0.83% loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Public Water Supply Loan Program (PWSLP). The City will also be securing $178,345.30 in principal loan forgiveness from IEPA. The final loan amount the City will have to pay back is estimated at $178,350.00. The City is responsible for $428,547.00 for not eligible street related costs for the project.

The Public Water State Revolving Fund (SRF) is administered by the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA). A portion of the IEPA money to fund these types of projects comes from the US Environmental Protection Agency. SRF programs operate in each state to provide communities with the resources to build, maintain and improve the infrastructure that protects one of our most valuable resources: water
