The Milledgeville-Chadwick Ministerial Association sponsors the Helping Hands Food Pantry the first Tuesday of each month, with an additional holiday distribution the third Tuesday in November and December. Times are 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. If school is canceled in the morning due to weather on a Tuesday Pantry day, the pantry will be rescheduled for Thursday of the same week with the same hours. If there is an early dismissal due to weather, the evening pantry hours (6:00 pm- 7:30 pm) will be rescheduled for Thursday evening. The food pantry is at 400 North Main Avenue at the intersection of Fourth Street and Main Avenue.
Registration is required during the first visit. Please bring a utility bill, driver's license. or other form of ID with your current address. Families must live within the school boundaries of the Chadwick-Milledgeville CUSD #399.
The pantry offers non-perishable foods, some paper and cleaning products, and some health items, as well as milk, eggs, margarine, meat and bread. Limits are based upon family size.
Participating churches take turns donating supplies, money and volunteers to staff the pantry each month. In addition to the churches, other community and school district food drives, and many generous individuals help keep the pantry open.
