Helping Hands Food Pantry is a local not-for profit entity that works in partnership with the Chadwick Milledgeville Ministerial Association to offer bread, milk, eggs, and non-perishable food to those facing food insecurities. Meat, fresh fruits and vegetables, paper products and hygiene products are limited to their availability. The pantry is open on the first Tuesday of each month from 9:00-11:00 AM and from 6:00 – 7:30 PM. No appointments are necessary. If school is canceled in the morning due to weather on a Tuesday Pantry Day, the pantry will be rescheduled for Thursday of the same week with the same hours. If there is an early dismissal due to weather, the evening pantry hours (6:00- 7:30 PM) will be rescheduled for Thursday evening.
The food pantry is located at 400 North Main Street in Milledgeville, at the intersection of Fourth Street and Main Avenue.
Registration is required during the first visit. Please bring a utility bill, driver’s license, or other form of ID with your current address. Eligible families must live within the school boundaries of the Chadwick-Milledgeville CUSD #399. Monthly limits of assistance are based upon family size and product availability.
Participating churches take turns donating supplies, money, and volunteers to staff the pantry each month. In addition to the churches, community, and school district food drives, along with many generous individuals help keep the pantry open.
We are here to give a “helping hand” when needed. Please call Leanne Dublo at 815.973.8096 or a local pastor for more information, if you find yourself in need of emergency help.
